Poker is one of the major games played in the family of the various card games available.The poker games differ I various aspects, depending on the dealing of the cards, the forming of hands, whether the low or the high hand wins the pot, though in some games the pot is split between the low and the high hands, the limitations of the bet and number of betting round allowed. This game has some betting rules and also the hand rankings.  In the poker games played today, there is some kind of forced bet involved in the beginning. The player who is matching the bet has the option to rise, thereby increasing the bet amount. Each player in their turn have to either match the maximum bet or fold involved previously, or have to lose all the further interest in the game play.  The round of betting ends when all the players have either folded or matched the last bet. If all players except one fold on any round, the remaining players can collect the pot without showing his hand. If more than one players are in contention after the final round of betting, the hands are shown and the hand which wins takes away the pot. This betting system differentiates poker form the other gambling games. The expectations in the long run of the player are determined mostly by their actions which are based on probability.
Except the initial forced bets, money is betted voluntarily into the pot by the players who believe that their bet has positive expected value.
